David Carl

Biographical sketch

David Carl is a co-founder and President of The Solomon Network. He has a strong background in business which, coupled with his military training, has enabled him to lend a steady hand to the early development of the company. His background makes for some interesting reading.

Upon graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1972, David spent 10 years, June, 1972 through December 1982, serving as an artillery officer in the U.S. Marine Corps, with duties including serving as a commanding officer of a nuclear capable 155 mm howitzer battery and a White House Social Aid for two presidents. He returned to school in the evenings while still in the military, where he obtained his business degree from the University of Maryland in 1982.

From 1983 to present, he has been working in various businesses. During this time he started and built three separate businesses. From 1983 1985, David worked for a business development company.

Then in 1986, he started a retail bookstore chain of three stores for which he served as President and Chief Operating Officer until 1989.

From 1990 to 1992, David was a partner in a real estate company. In 1992, he founded a residential mortgage company for which he served as Chief Executive Officer until 1999.

In 2000, he founded an energy efficient lighting company where he also served as Chief Executive Officer until 2005.

David has been active in his community, serving as a director on several non-profit community service organizations aimed at serving youth. David is also active in his church, having served several terms as a deacon and several terms as an elder. He is married and has three daughters.
